In 2003 I started my solo practice, Mahadevan Law Office. I specialized in immigration law, estate planning and business law. I built my practice from the ground up — opening a law practice and marketing that practice became essential to my firm. I am licensed in both Missouri and Illinois.
In addition to my law firm, I am an adjunct professor at the St. Louis University (SLU) School of Law, my alma mater. I teach Immigration Law and Law Practice Management.
I write about my practice areas and how to run a successful business. After all, the law is a business. In general, most of my law advice and thoughts pertain to the law in Missouri and Illinois; however, my business suggestions are applicable to any business owner.
The fifth edition of my book “How to start a Law Practice and Succeed” (copyright 2013) came out in August 2013, in time for me to teach Law Practice Management at SLU School of Law. I also write and speak extensively about legal fees, management and delivery of legal services.
